Asian Dub Foundation – Real Great Britain

Real Great Britain do Asian Dub Foundation é bom demais.

Faz alguns dias estava conversando com uma amiga sobre músicas que gosto que são estranhas… Lembrei logo de várias, mas houve uma vez que ouvi algo tão diferente que me assustei em gostar, foi Real Great Britain do Asian Dub Foundation.

Diretamente da era onde eu gastava meu dinheiro com cerveja e CDs… Lembro de gostar de ouvir o som bem alto e, mesmo que envergonhado, tentava acompanhar a letra. Meu inglês na época era pior do que é hoje, mas já dava para perceber que até quem tem inglês avançado deve ser complicado entender tantas palavras rápidas desse jeito e com um sotaque indiano carregadíssimo! Mas é claro que isso não afeta a qualidade do som dos caras, mesmo que Asian Dub Foundation fosse desconhecido na época.

Essa música é do álbum de 2000 e reflete bem o clima daquela época, todos procurando igualdade no início de um novo milênio… Era bem mais comum isso naquela época. Acho que se ainda existir o termo world music eles seriam uma ótima referência, uma banda britânica com integrantes de todo lugar, principalmente da Ásia, tocando ritmos como dub (acho que tem ska também), em inglês.
